Fíodhna at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, DubaiWelcome to the music website of Irish traditional low whistle player, Fíodhna Gardiner, from Ballyporeen, Co. Tipperary. Placing the slow air at the heart of the traditional repertoire and having played whistles with the UAE’s Irish traditional band ‘Inis Oirr‘ for many years, Fíodhna’s website gives an overview of her musical journey – from Ireland to the Middle East, back to the neighbouring towns of Ballina/Killaloe.

Influenced by her father, accordionist Bobby Gardiner and having performed on film, television and radio in both Ireland and abroad, Fiodhna’s debut album ‘Air Time’ reflects her musical journey and includes traditional Irish, Scottish and newly composed airs.

For a sample of Fíodhna’s music from ‘Air Time’, watch the video below, to hear ‘The Banks of Sullane’, where she is joined by Seamie O’ Dowd on guitar and Cathy Jordan on vocals.
